Why Should We Share?

The words Take Shape Share encompass the FENC ethos and we certainly know that colleges benefit from the flexibility to ‘take’ and ‘shape’ our products and services. However we shouldn’t forget why FENC was established in the first place: to avoid wasteful duplication of effort and to provide cost effective quality materials!

The college Principals who founded the organisation realised that much of the effort to produce materials was being duplicated in each of their colleges and saw that the solution lay in colleges working in partnership, sharing both their expertise and the costs of producing the materials.

This successful collaboration has seen the FENC portfolio of resources grow to over 30,000 individual student learning hours. However, it is vital that the resources reflect tutors and learner’s current needs and this will be achieved by colleges continuing to share content so that everyone benefits from each other’s efforts.
