Hartlepool College of Further Education, Community Development Day – Thursday 21st June 2007
Our recent Community Development Day was hosted at Hartlepool College of Further Education. We would like to thank all the staff there who helped organise the smooth running of the day. Particular thanks goes to Chris Hayton who co-ordinated the event and to the catering students who provided such a delicious and well presented lunch.
of FENC, demonstrated how quickly and easily the resources can be embedded within a college’s VLE for either student or tutor access and use. By using a customised interface which had been designed to look like a popular VLE, Matt showed how FENC materials can be seamlessly linked to populate any college VLE.
We were particularly fortunate to be joined by Jon Chambers and Julia Glass from Promethean, international providers of interactive whiteboards. We would like to thank them for their great presentation in which they demonstrated how even traditional FENC resources can be reinvigorated and enhanced by using them within an interactive whiteboard. Using just a little imagination, as well as some of the tools and functionality of a whiteboard, such as electronic voting pads, we saw how easily the learning experience can be made more interesting and interactive for the learner.
